A Moment of Pure Joy, by Jacob Payne

Rus and I were cleaning out the garage this morning, irresponsibly leaving the kids inside to "watch a movie". We left the door open so we could hear them, and we assumed that the quiet was due to the zombie-like state that they usually find themselves in while watching a movie. To her credit, Bekah was actually watching it. But Jacob, who had been left on the counter to finish his popcorn (we didn't want him eating it in the living room...that would make a mess!), had instead discovered the open box of fruit loops and a baggie full of chips ahoy cookies. The picture tells the rest of the story (look closely, especially at the floor). I am sure that while we were busy in the garage, Jacob was dancing on the counter, spilling fruit loops in every direction possible, at which point his acute sense of smell directed his little hands to an oh-so available baggie of Chocolate Chunk and White Chocolate Chip Cookies, at which point he really had to sample each and every cookie before finally recognizing the wonderful and complete success of his adventure. He was so proud of those cookies when I walked in and found him with them! Ah the innocence of youth.

Haha! Ohhh the mess! When my kids do that I immediately feel this wave of stress crash into me. Of course I don't show this to the kids as they don't know any better. I get more angry at myself that I had left those things out to create such a mess.

I love the cookies! SO like my kids. That was hilarious.

I hope your sore throat is feeling better. Those things can be ruthless at times! I'm always whining about my sore throats. They give me headaches and sometimes I get more sick over them. So go ahead and complain--you are in pain. Just DON'T drink carbonated drinks. It makes it worse (read it online and experienced it first hand last week). I thought the carbonation would help soothe. Nope.

HILARIOUS! I always fear the quite in a house with children...quite is just too darn good to be true.

I LOVE that prego count down thingy you all have on your blogs...It is nice being far away to keep up with you all. I really hope you are feeling better by the way. Your little count down thingy says something along the lines of "plump or pregnant" and I tell you what...to me, that is THE WORST PART OF PREGNANCY...that akward stage where people are too afraid to ask you "that question" because what if you are just fat. Talk about feeling like a cow! Hopefully that little belly pokes out soon so people will stop looking at you sideways! :-)
