In this specific case the dark cloud came in this form:
Wonderful mother that I am, I heard crying soon after I had told Jacob to lay down for a nap, but by that time I had already sweetly and lovingly asked him to get back in bed so many times that I wasn't interested in the source of his woes.
So when I went in to wake him up because we had to go somewhere and I found that there was something behind the door preventing me from opening it (originally I admit I thought that maybe he had fallen asleep on the floor...it has happened before...), and upon further inspection I saw blankets and clothes strewn all over the floor and the entire book shelf toppled over onto the nearby rocking chair...
So when Rus gets home tonight, unfortunately he's going to hear all about it. Starting with "Your son..."

Bridget just pulled her dresser over the other day trying to climb it...Luckily she was climbing up the side (who knows why) and so she wasn't "pancaked" either...Scary though- and they just have NO CLUE how close they came to being flattened!
Don't worry....I am sure remorse will come one day when he is old enough to read and comprehend the woes of parenthood. Hang in there parents....! And just a word of wisdom from the 'oh so single', if they are pancaked once, they probably won't do it again ;)
that's horrible, and funny! I totally know how you feel about the "your son".
Okay, I'm totally laughing--only because it's happened me, I don't know, a hundred times. Darren used to pull himself up on his dresser and teeter and then we'd hear this loud crashing and Darren screeching in fear. Yeah, that's happened a few times. Courtney's done the same. I pray Ikee will be quite the opposite and leave his furniture ALONE.
I love how the words "Your son," brings a dark, looming cloud as it's so true. When Loren hears that he's all, "What makes him MY son? It's your family that's crazy. He gets it from your side..." ...right...
In other words, I loved reading this blog! It was fun.
