Boy oh Boy

Upon seeing the immediate tell-tale evidence that the baby in my belly is a BOY, Rus beamed with that proud smile that one can only assume means "Yes. Yes. I have done it again. I have made a son", and I couldn't help but think of all those little baby girl clothes that would have fit this baby so perfectly, but now instead will suffer a few more years in the closet. Oh, and the adorable crib bedding (girl, of course) that would have looked so sweet in the crib again. And then I had to sheepishly admit to myself that poor Jacob didn't even get crib bedding. He slept in the port-a-crib, tucked away in the corner of the office until he was at least a year old. And then I also thought, much to my embarassment, "How am I going to handle another little caveman monster like Jacob?" Really I hope this baby isn't exactly like either of my children. I don't think I could handle a carbon copy of Bekah or Jacob. As much as I love both of them, I truly know why now, and thank Heavenly Father, that he didn't make any of his children the same. And then I thought of Bekah...When I told her I was going to the doctor so he could tell me if the baby was a boy or a girl, she said, "I want a sister." And when I told her that I didn't really have any control over that, she made it abundantly clear by her insistance that she didn't really care about that, she wanted a sister. I admit that I was a little nervous to tell her it was a boy when I went to pick her and Jacob up, but by then she either didn't really understand or didn't really care.

So I also included some pictures in this post, even though they don't really go along with the previous topic...But I had to get a picture of Bekah because my friend who was watching her this morning put her hair in curlers and it turned out so cute! This is what happens when my children watch TV. They turn into zombies. Adorable, focused, quiet little zombies...

Yeah! A Boy! Congratulation Keri! I am so excited for you...I guess now would be a good time to make up for the lack of boy crib bedding last time huh? :-) You'll do great!
